Your next visit to Red Lobster, Applebee’s, Aldi, & Perkins just got smoother thanks to Johnstown Galleria Mall owner, Leo Karruli. Focusing on steady, practical upgrades that improve the everyday experience for shoppers and tenants, Karruli continues to address the maintenance challenges left by prior owners.
What many don’t realize is that these access roads-including Galleria Drive-are privately owned and maintained by the mall, not the township, and had been in poor condition for years. Karruli has been funding these repairs out of his own pocket, taking on the work section by section with the goal of eventually having all the roads and parking lots in top shape.
While these improvements might not grab headlines, they make a real difference for everyone visiting the mall. Updated roads mean easier, safer access to your favorite spots and a more welcoming experience overall. As Karruli explains: “I’m committed to making the Galleria better every day by bringing in new stores and taking care of things like safe, well-maintained roads. I am keeping my promise to the community and making sure the Galleria is a place people want to visit.”
The Galleria team is also working with local representatives to explore additional funding sources, which could help speed up the pace of these much-needed upgrades. For now, the investment continues-one stretch of road at a time-alongside ongoing efforts to attract new tenants and revitalize the entire mall campus.
