The Johnstown Galleria Mall was buzzing with activity Saturday as hundreds of families, friends, and gob enthusiasts descended on the annual Gob Festival, turning the event into one of the most successful celebrations in recent memory.
By noon, the sweet treats were already history. Gob vendors completely sold out their inventories as eager customers lined up all the way to the Sears exit, creating a festive atmosphere that had shoppers raving about the experience. But it wasn’t just about the gobs—craft vendors throughout the mall reported strong sales, and Dark Brew Coffee saw lines stretching through the concourse as visitors fueled up on premium coffee while browsing booths and enjoying the lively environment.
“It was the perfect way to get out of the cold and spend quality time together,” said one attendee, echoing the sentiment of many families who filled the mall throughout the day. Between sampling delicious gobs, exploring unique handmade crafts, grabbing lunch at the food court, and enjoying live music, there was something for everyone. Mall owner Leo Karruli added to the excitement by giving away over $1,000 in cash and prizes through random drawings and fan-favorite competitions, keeping the energy high all day long.
